Fermanova (née Rasina, Makhneva) Zara (Sara) Mulevna (1 March 1931, Daugavpils) — worker.

In 1931, Fermanova’s family moved to Riga. In 1941, Zara Fermanova graduated from Riga Russian Gymnasium No. 1.

From 1941, together with her sister Genya Zalipskaya (née Rasina) (1927), she lived in an orphanage in Omsk: her mother perished in a concentration camp, and her father, Samuil Rasin (1902–1940), died in evacuation.

In 1948, she returned to Riga, where until 1954 she worked as a domestic worker.

In 1954, from her marriage to Boris Fermanov (1924), a son was born — Semyon Fermanov (1954). In 1957, the marriage was dissolved.

From 1955 to 1959, she worked at the 2nd enterprise of the Riga City Food Trade system. From 1960 to 1963, she worked as a nurse aide at the Riga dermatovenerologic dispensary. From 1964 to 1968, she worked as a stamper at the Riga electromechanical factory. From 1970 to 1972, she worked at the “Rīgas Apavi” industrial complex.

Her second marriage, concluded in 1966 with Vladimir Makhnev (1939), was dissolved in 1972.

In 1972, Zara Fermanova left Latvia upon invitation from her sister, who had emigrated to Israel a year earlier.
