Ferber (née Kleinman) Gita Moiseevna (8 March 1908, Tukums) — pharmacist.

Gita Ferber received her secondary education in 1928 at the “Dolgi” Gymnasium in Riga. From 1929 to 1931, she completed practical training at a pharmacy in Tukums. In 1931, she graduated from pharmaceutical courses at the Ministry of Health in Riga.

From 1931 to 1941, she worked as an assistant pharmacist in Tukums. During the evacuation years, she lived in Kirov, working as an assistant in a city pharmacy.

From 1944 onward, she worked in Riga, remaining devoted to her profession: first as an assistant and later as a dispensing pharmacist at Pharmacies No. 2 and No. 1, as well as at the Riga special pharmacy. From 1967, she was retired.

She was awarded the medal “Veteran of Labour.”

In the 1970s, Gita Ferber repeatedly applied for permission to visit her son in Israel but was refused. In 1978, she was granted permission to emigrate to Israel for permanent residence.

During the Holocaust, her parents — Moisey Kleinman (1872–1941) and Debora Kleinman (1883–1941), and her brother Benyamin Kleinman (1906–1941) — were executed in Tukums in 1941.

Her husband, Mozus Ferber (1910–1940), went missing on the fronts of World War II in 1941.

Her sister, Yudit Ferber (née Kleinman) (1914), was married to her husband’s brother, and together with Gita planned to emigrate to Israel.

Her son, Mark Ferber (1938), an engineer by profession, lived and worked in Riga until 1971 and later emigrated to Israel.
