His father served as rabbi of Ziezmariai.
Born in 5608 (1848) in Kraz, district of Vilna.
After his father's ascent to the Land of Israel in the month of Tammuz 56331), he was elected to fill his place and served in the rabbinate of Ziezmariai for 22 years.
He served in the rabbinate here for approximately four years, from 5656 (1896) until his passing here on 21 Iyyar 5660 (20 May 1900).
Author of the books Gilyon MaHaRiL (Warsaw 5653), Chavat HaKodesh (Warsaw 5659).
An approbation from him (to be received when the book would be published) appears in the book Tachnit HaNefesh2) (Warsaw 5661).
