Dimant Genya Isaakovna (b. 1933, Riga) - engineer‑designer.

Genya Dimant was the daughter of Isaak Dimant (b. 1905, Daugavpils; d. 1959, Riga), an optical‑instruments merchant whose enterprise employed hired labour and generated an annual turnover of 183,000 lats, and Feiga Segal (née Dimant) (b. 1901, Zalava). In 1941, Genya and her family were deported from Soviet Latvia by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Latvian SSR as Genya’s father was a prominent merchant of optical instruments, employing paid staff and reporting annual turnover of 183,000 lats. He was also noted for his generous donations to arm the paramilitary Aizsargi during Kārlis Ulmanis’s presidency. They were removed from the special‑settlement registry in 1956. She had two sisters: Sara Nakhimovskaya (née Dimant) (b. 1930, Daugavpils) and Itella Gurieva (née Dimant) (b. 1940, Daugavpils).

In 1957 Genya Dimant graduated in 1957 from the Siberian Forestry Engineering Institute with a qualification as a mechanical‑technological engineer. Between 1957 and 1958, she served as a quality controller at the Bjarzhas Furniture Combine in Vilnius. From 1958 to 1960, she worked as a production‑norms analyst at the Riga Timber Combine. In 1960–1961, she was employed as a technician, and from 1961 to 1972 she worked as an engineer‑designer at the Riga Lighting Engineering Plant.

She married Juris Pavars (b. 1935, Riga), with whom she had a son, Edmund Pavars (b. 1969, Riga). In 1972, Genya Dimant emigrated to Israel at the invitation of her sister, Sara Nakhimovskaya.
