Davidson (Davidsohn) Abram Mendelevich (19 March 1906, Riga – ?) — worker.

Abram Davidson was born into the family of Mendel Borukhovich Davidson (1866 or 1868, Vitebsk, Belarus – 1941, murdered by the Nazis in the Riga Ghetto) and Rakhil Moiseevna Davidson (née Movshevna or Roke-Lea Movshevna) (1868 or 1870, Vilnius – 1933, Riga).

After graduating from secondary school in Riga in 1924, he studied for two years at the Higher Textile School in Verviers, Belgium (1925–1927). He spent two years dependent on his parents. From 1929 to 1940, he worked as head of rental at Fortuno Film, and from 1940 to 1941, he headed the Riga Department of Cinematography.

In 1941, Davidson was placed in the Riga Ghetto. In 1943, he escaped and was hidden by a gardener, Stiebrinsh, and his wife in Pleskodale until the liberation of Riga in 1944.

From 1944 to 1948, he served as director of the “Farmakon” company; from 1948 to 1951, he was deputy director of a penicillin factory. From 1951 to 1963, he worked as a fitter-toolmaker at the “Kvēle” plant, then as a fitter-assembler at the Sarkana Planeta factory (1963–1965). He later served as head of supply at the Riga Experimental Plant for Computing Equipment (1965–1967), and as foreman of the woodworking shop at the Adazi collective farm gardening division (1967–1968). Since 1968, he was retired.

His first wife, Beile Davidson (née Markuze) (1912–1941), and daughter Rakhil Davidson (b. 1941), were both murdered by the Nazis in the Riga Ghetto in 1941.

His second marriage was to Lidiya Sergeyevna Chistova (b. 1923, Yevpatoria, Crimea); they had no children. In 1973, Davidson received permission to emigrate to Israel with his wife and her mother Valentina Vladimirovna Svyataya (b. 1904), joining his sister Khaya Mendelevna Shlezinger (b. 1893, Riga), who had lived there since 1971.
