Latvia and Rabbis

1)
In his approbations on the books of R. Ze'ev Wolf, Av Beit Din of Lucin, he signs “here in the holy congregation of Mitavi… residing in the above-mentioned holy congregation and rabbinic decisor of the holy congregation of Tukums and its environs.”
2)
R. Avitzinsky writes that he passed away in 5570, but the date of his approbation for Sfat HaYam of the Raz“v, Av Beit Din of Lucin (Breslau edition, 5579) is from the year 5578. However, this approbation is almost letter for letter identical to his approbation in 5570 for the same book in its earlier edition (Kapust 5572; in both it says Monday, 22 Sivan, and indeed only in 5570 did this date fall on a Monday, while in 5578 it fell on a Friday).
