Butina (Levshtein) Sareta Ilyinovna (born 1 June 1921, Dvinsk—now Daugavpils) - a feldsher (medical assistant).
Sareta Butina was born into a working-class family. Her father’s name was Elia Simonovich Levshtein (1885, Dvinsk–1957, Riga), and her mother’s name was Elka Khatskelevna Levshtein(1897, Dvinsk–1970, Riga). Sareta completed secondary school in Dvinsk in 1941. During World War II, she was evacuated with her parents and brother to the Urzhum district of Kirov Oblast, where she graduated from a feldsher school and worked as a nurse in a local hospital in 1944.
Upon returning to Latvia, she enrolled in the medical faculty of the Latvian State University but did not complete her studies due to family circumstances (1944–1946). She graduated from the Riga Pedagogical School in 1948 and worked as an educator in Kindergarten No. 46 (1948–1958) and Kindergarten No. 34 (1958–1959). Subsequently, she served as a nurse in Kindergarten No. 34 (1959–1969) and Kindergarten No. 177 (1969–1974).
In her marriage to Butin Ioel Meerovich (1918, Dvinsk–1969, Riga), she had two sons: Butin Meer Ioelovich (1945, Riga) and Butin Veniamin Ioelovich (1947, Riga).
In 1974, Sareta Butina received permission to emigrate to Israel, where her brother Levshtein Abram Ilyich (1926, Dvinsk) had been residing since 1972, and her elder son, Butin Meer Ioelovich (1945), since 1973.
