Brant Ilya Benovich (born 6 January 1961, Riga) – engineer. Son of Beno Brant (b. 1932, Jēkabpils) and Khaya Brant (née Katzen) (b. 1936, Krustpils).

In 1978, he graduated from Riga Secondary School No. 34. From 1978 to 1983, he was a student at the Riga Polytechnic Institute. From 1983 to 1989, he worked as an engineer at the Latvian branch of the Computing Technology and Informatics Production Association. From 1989, he was employed as a worker at the Pardaugava Association.

In his marriage to Irina Grinshtein (b. 1966, Riga), a daughter was born – Yevgeniya Brant (b. 1989, Riga).

In 1990, Ilya Brant received permission to emigrate to Israel at the invitation of his father’s brother, Iosif Brant (b. 1928, Jēkabpils).
