Dobele / Dobeln

Born on 10 Marcheshvan 5670 (25 October 1909) in Alt-Autz, to his father who was the rabbi there.

He served as rabbi in Dobele from 12 Menachem Av 5699 (9 August 1938).

In November 1940 he submitted a request to the authorities to be released from the position of city rabbi due to his studies at the local university.

Latvia: Batei Knesset VeRabbanim, pp. 69 and 236. Di Geshikhte, p. 196. Regarding his request to be released from his position, it should be noted that this was approximately half a year after Latvia was conquered by the Soviets, and perhaps this is why he resigned his position.
