Ikšķile

Ikšķile (Ikshkile), town (since 1992) in the Ogre District (Republic of Latvia). In the 19th and early 20th centuries, it was located in the Livonian Governorate. From 1918 to 1940, it was part of the Republic of Latvia, and from 1940 to 1991, it was part of the Latvian SSR.

In the 1920s and 1930s, two Jewish families lived in Ikškile, who owned several dachas.

On 18 September 1941, both Jewish families were shot by Latvian police (only one girl survived).
