Bushkin Isser (1928-)

Bushkin Isser (04.05.1928-, Riga) - singer, bass. From 1942 to 1945, he worked in a factory in Cheboksary. From 1945 to 1947, he studied at the Riga Music School in the choral conducting department. From 1948 to 1953, he studied at the vocal department (classes of E. Viting and R. Volsky) of the Latvian Conservatoire. From 1954 to 1962, he was a member of the Latvian Opera and Ballet Theater, performing the roles of Bartolo, Boris Godunov, Konchak, and Miller. Since 1963, he has been a soloist with the Latvian Philharmonic, performing both major roles and chamber concerts. His repertoire included works by Schubert, Rachmaninoff and Sviridov. In 1964, he was awarded second prize at the Mussorgsky Competition. He lives in Germany and runs a vocal studio.
