Bach Shalom (1927-1967)

Bach Shalom (1927-1967, Latvia-Israel) ― prisoner of Zion. He took part in the “Beitar” movement. In 1941 he and his family tried to escape to Palestine but were arrested while crossing the border of Afghanistan. He was sentenced to eight years in prison. He was situated in the corrective-work facility in Aktobe and then transferred to the north of Russia. He was released in 1957. In 1966 he emigrated to Israel after a long fight for the right to leave the USSR.
