Becker Hillel (07.04.1858-?) – public figure and philanthropist. For many years he was a board member of 'Chevra Kadisha', head of the Grand Choral Synagogue, president of the 'Moshav Zekenim' and for several years chairman of the board of the 'Linat Tsedek'. He was well-known in Riga for his service in the name of society, his donations to philanthropic causes and his constant efforts to help those in need.
