Upon returning to Riga, she worked as a sales assistant at the ORS of the Ministry of Communications (1945–1947) and at the ORS of Construction-Montage Trust No. 1 (1947–1948). From 1948 to 1955, she was a homemaker.

From 1968 to 1978, she was employed at the Siluets production association.
From her marriage to Meyer Khonovich Vapne (b. 1924, Līvāni, Latvia), she had two children: Khona Meyerovich Vapne (b. 1949, Riga) and Bella Meyerovna Vapne (b. 1958, Riga). The marriage was dissolved in 1969.
