She was born into the family of worker Feitelberg Shlaum Shmulovich (1884, Piltene, Latvia – 1946, Riga) and housewife Feitelberg (née Magarshak) Sara Eta Leybovna (1888, Ludza, Latvia – 1982, West Germany). She studied at a Jewish school (1928–1937), then attended and completed secondary school (1937–1941). She was evacuated to Cheboksary, Chuvash ASSR, and later moved with her family to Tyumen (1941–1944). On returning to Latvia she worked in Riga as an estimator – at the Ministry of Municipal Economy (1944–1952), and at the design institute “Latgiprogorstroy” (1952–1971).
In her marriage to Shmuelovich Kopel-Aizik Iosifovich (1927, Riga), son Shmuelovich Yakov Kopel-Aizikovich (b. 1957, Riga) and daughter Shmuelovich Nelly Kopel-Aizikovna (b. 1966, Riga) were born.
In 1971 she received permission to emigrate to Israel, where her husband's father Shmuelovich Iosif Kopelovich (b. 1908) and her husband's stepmother Vainshtein Eta Aronovna (b. 1918, Ludza) had been living with their sons since 1968.
