Zhuk Regina (6 December 1936, Moscow) — Soviet, Latvian and Israeli scientist. Doctor of Science (habil. chem.), professor. Foreign member of the Latvian Academy of Sciences (2000). Director of the medicinal chemistry department. Works at the Israeli firm Rimonyx Pharmaceuticals. President of the Latvian Medical Chemistry Association (from 1992). Member of the board of the European Federation for Medicinal Chemistry (from 1992). Member of the editorial board of the Chinese Pharmaceutical Journal (from 1995). Author of inventions: ftorafur (with M. Lidaka and S. Hiller), furavir (with M. Lidaka and M. Madre), and aciclovir (with M. Lidaka and M. Madre). Laureate of the Grand Medal of the Latvian Academy of Sciences (2014).
