Zel Shlem-Leib Mayrimovich (20.11.1947, Riga) – mechanic. Son of Mayrim Zel (1910, Liepāja) and Eida Zel (née Glatsman)(1906, Kuldīga). In 1962 Z. graduated from Riga Eight-Year School No. 29. From 1962 to 1965 he worked as an electrician at Repair and Construction Administration No. 1 of Riga City Repair Trust. From 1965 to 1966 he worked as an electrician for special works at the Riga Repair and Construction Office. In 1966 he entered the full-time department of the Riga Industrial Polytechnic. From 1966 to 1969 Zel served in the Soviet Army (military units 87358 and 53898, Karakalpak ASSR). In 1969 he worked as a fitter at the “Autoelektropribor” plant. Since 1970 he worked as a mechanic for the repair of accounting-perforating machines at the “Impulse” plant in Riga.
In marriage with Bella Khaimovna Zel (née Neidlin) (1949, Ventspils) he had a son, Boris-Shlem Zel (1970, Tukums).
