Yunkman (née Gruzina) Simkha Gersonovna (27.7.1906, Jēkabpils) – worker. She completed basic school in Jēkabpils and until 1932 worked at private enterprises in Jēkabpils. From 1932 she lived in Riga, and until 1941 was dependent on her husband while raising her sons. During the war she was evacuated to the Chuvash ASSR and worked at the local collective farm. Returning to Riga, Yu. married for a second time and did not work until 1968. From 1948 to 1951 Yu. was a worker in the trim shop at the “Somdaris” factory in Riga. From 1951 to 1963 she worked at the artels “Taupība,” “Galalīts,” “Ražotājs,” and at the “Tekstilnieks” combine. From 1963 to 1965 Yu. worked as a home-based weaver at the Riga City Council Textile Combine and at the multi-branch home-labor combine. Group 2 disabled, from 1965 she was on a disability pension.

Yu.'s parents, natives of Jēkabpils, Gruzin Gershon (1874 – 1941(?)) and Gruzina Khaya (1877 – 1941(?)), perished in Riga during the German occupation. Yu.'s first husband, Yunkman Izail (1909 – 1943), fell in battle on the front. Yu.'s sons, natives of Riga, Yunkman Khilel (1933 – 1959) and Yunkman Meyshe (1937 – 1962) are buried in Riga. Yu.'s second husband, Shlyuper Zalaman (1902 – 1960), was born in Daugavpils and is buried in Riga. In the second marriage daughter Akerman (née Shlyuper) Khaya (1946, Riga) was born. Yu.'s second husband's brother, Shlyuper Gershon (1912), left Latvia for Israel in 1973.

In 1978 Yu. received permission to leave Latvia.
