Yukha (née Smolyak) Ella Leyzerovna (24.02.1936, Balvi) — hairdresser, milliner. Daughter of Smolyak (née Solovey) Khaya (1909, Balvi) and Smolyak Leyzer (1909, Ludza). In 1941 she was evacuated to Tanchayevo village, Gorky Region. In 1944 Sh.'s family was re-evacuated to Ludza; in 1945 they moved to Riga. In 1952—60 — milliner at the “Fantaziya” factory. In 1960—65 — hairdresser: at the Riga hairdresser management office and at the household services combine of the Riga District. In 1965—66 — milliner at the hat workshop of the Riga District KBO. In 1966—68 — ladies' hairdresser at a mobile hairdresser's. From 1968 — hat maker at the Riga Knitwear and Headwear Combine. In her marriage to Yukha Fayvish (1928, Varakļāni), son Yukha Gennady (1956, Riga) was born. In 1971 Yu. received permission to emigrate to Israel at the invitation of her husband's father's brother, Yukha Yakov (1911, Varakļāni), who had been living on the territory of the present State of Israel since the 1940s.
