Yudelson Evel Mikhailovich (6.2.1910, Jēkabpils – 1974, Israel) – tinsmith. In search of work, he moved to Riga at the age of 14. From 1924 to 1928 Yu. worked as a tinsmith at the “Teitelbaumin” firm in Riga. From 1928 to 1929 he was a worker at a sawmill. In 1929 he completed 7 grades of basic school in Riga. From 1929 to 1930 Yu. worked as a loader at the harbor of Sovtorgflot. From 1930 to 1934 he worked for hire from private entrepreneurs in Riga. From 1935 to 1936 Yu. served in the ranks of the Latvian Army in Jelgava. From 1936 to 1940 he worked as a tinsmith at the “Danemаnis” firm.

In 1941 Yu. volunteered for the front, and was demobilized from the Soviet Army in 1945, having been wounded several times. Until 1960 Yu. worked as a tinsmith at several Riga artels. From 1960 to 1972 he worked at the Riga Municipal Electric Grid enterprise “Rīgasvets.”

In 1955 Yu. was convicted for speculation and sentenced by the people's court of the Kirov District of Riga to 6 months' deprivation of freedom. After the death of Yu.'s first wife, Yudelson (née Fayvelsona) Riva (1914 – 1964), Yu. entered a second marriage in 1966 with Yudelson (née Tibarovskaya) Mayya (1922). The second marriage was dissolved in 1972.

He was awarded the medal “On the Field of Glory” (Poland) and the medal “20 Years of the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945.”

Yu.'s father, Yudelson Mikhail (1877 – 1941), was shot by the Krustpils aizsargi in 1941. Yu.'s mother, Yudelson Riva (1882 – 1941), perished in Krustpils during the German occupation. Yu.'s brother, Yudelson Leyb (1899 – 1945), was a prisoner of the Riga ghetto; during the war he worked at the Riga “Lenta” factory. Together with other workers he was transported to the Stutthof concentration camp, where he perished in 1945. Yu.'s sister, Chernobrovа Manya (1902 – 1945), was shot during the German occupation in Riga.

In 1972 Yu. received permission to leave Latvia at the invitation of his daughter, Yakubovich (née Yudelson) Genya (1940), who had left Latvia in 1971.
