Before being conscripted into the Soviet Army in 1952, Leib Vulfson worked as an apprentice in footwear procurement at the Riga artel “Spars.” After his demobilisation, he resumed work at the same enterprise, which was later renamed the “Rīgas Apavi” (Riga Footwear) combine, eventually becoming a senior foreman.
