Vasserman German (24.08.1874, Livonia) – doctor, public and cultural figure. He completed the medical faculty of the University of Dorpat, and specialized in Berlin. In Riga from 1900. During the war he was a military physician. In 1921 he was elected head of the cultural department of the Riga community. He was several times chairman of the society of Jewish physicians. One of the founders and simultaneously head of the society “for the dissemination of education and culture among Jews,” which founded the Jewish People's Conservatory, the first Hebrew-language kindergarten, and in 1921 the Hebrew Gymnasium in Riga. Member of the board of trustees of the “Bikur Cholim” hospital.
