Spungin Jozefina Davydovna (née Apfel, Voss) (1 June 1900, Vienna, Austria) — furrier.

From 1916 to 1922, Jozefina Spungin worked in a fur workshop in Vienna owned by her parents. From 1922 to 1939, she was a homemaker. Until 1935, she lived in Germany. Fleeing the persecution of Jews, in 1935 she moved to Italy.

In 1939, the family decided to emigrate to the United States. Before departure, she and her husband travelled to Latvia to bid farewell to his parents and were forced to remain in the country.

In 1941, she was evacuated to Uzbekistan, where until 1942 she worked on a collective farm. From 1942 to 1945, she worked in the artel “Krasny Trikotazhnik” in Kokand. In 1945, she returned to Riga.

From 1947 to 1950, she worked as a labourer and head of a fur workshop in the artel “Bytovik.” From 1950, she was a homemaker.

She was first married to Vulf Voss (1890, Aizpute — 1942, Uzbek SSR). Their son is Kurt Voss (1925, Dresden, Germany). She later married Naum Spungin (1894, Līvāni).

Her parents, David Apfel (— 1942, Italy) and Rosa Apfel (— 1942, Italy), perished in the Holocaust. Her brother and sister, Willy Apfel (1901, Vienna, Austria) and Anna Max (née Apfel, Voss) (1902, Vienna, Austria), emigrated from Italy to the United States in 1939.

In 1965, Jozefina Spungin received permission to emigrate to the United States.
