Sanderson William (1905, Dubbeln [Dubulti], Livonia Province — 1990, Colorado, USA) — artist.

At the age of 18, William Sanderson emigrated to the United States. He lived in New York, where he studied at the National Academy of Design and the Art Students League. After completing his studies, he worked as an illustrator. His works appeared in well-known publications such as The New Yorker, Esquire, and The New Masses.

In 1937, he held his own exhibition at the Gallery of Contemporary Art in New York. After the Second World War, he moved to Denver, where from 1946 to 1972 he taught advertising design at the University of Denver.

He actively participated in the artistic community and was a co-founder of the organization “Fifteen Colorado Artists.” His paintings were executed in various styles, including Cubism, Socialist Realism, and Abstract Art.

In 1976, William Sanderson donated his collection of forty paintings to the Northeastern Junior College in Sterling (Colorado, USA). The works are exhibited in a gallery bearing his name.
