Ritov Moisey Borisovich (4 June 1900, Riga) — worker.

Moisey Ritov was the son of Boris Ritov (1858, Žagarė — 1937, Riga) and Sara Ritova (1864, Žagarė — 1939, Riga). The family had ten children: Moisei and his brothers Tovsei Ritov (1885, Riga — 1944, murdered in the Holocaust), Leopold Ritov (1887, Riga; living in Sweden in the 1970s), Bernard Ritov (1888, Riga; living in Sweden in the 1970s), Vulf Ritov (1893, Riga — 1944, Riga), Israel Ritov (1896, Riga — 1952, Riga), Isaac Ritov (1897, Riga), Yakov Ritov (1897, Riga; living in Hamburg in the 1970s), Harp Ritov (1905, Riga), and their sister Sheina Klein (née Ritova) (1889, Riga; living in Sweden in the 1970s).

From 1918 to 1940 Ritov worked at his father’s company in Riga, Turgeneva Street 17, which dealt with purchasing and trading scrap iron. In 1940–1941 he worked as a warehouse manager at Soyuzutil in Riga.

In 1941 he was imprisoned in the Riga Ghetto. In 1944 he was transferred to the “Lenta” concentration camp in Riga on Bauskas Street. In the same year he escaped from the camp and remained in hiding until the autumn of 1944.

From 1944 to 1956 he worked as a warehouse worker at Soyuzutil in Riga. From 1956 to 1961 he worked as a salesman at the enterprise “Latlesstroytorg.” From 1961 he was retired.

During the Holocaust, his first wife Freida Ritova (1907, Riga — 1941, Riga) and their children Artur Ritov (1930, Riga — 1941, Riga) and Bella Ritova (1937, Riga — 1941, Riga) were murdered.

In 1946 he married for the second time Sofia Shneur (née Rabin) (1898, Riga).

In 1973 he received permission to emigrate to Israel at the invitation of his wife’s relatives.
