Pleple (née Kovnat) Khaya (Сhaya) Davidovna (1904–1941) - educator.

Khaya Pleple was the daughter of David Kovnat, rabbi of Balvi. In 1923 she graduated from the State Jewish Secondary School in Rēzekne. In 1924 she attended state summer courses organised by the Jewish Department of the Ministry of Education.

She began her teaching career as an acting teacher of Religious Studies (Law of God), Hebrew, and Biblical studies. From 1923 until October 1927 she worked at the Balvi Jewish Primary School, and from October 1927 she taught at the Subate Jewish Primary School. From the autumn of 1929 she taught in Daugavpils at the private Jewish school “Torah ve-Derekh Eretz,” the Municipal Jewish Secondary School, and the 2nd and 14th Municipal Jewish Primary Schools. In 1936 she received certification as a fully qualified teacher.

In 1928 she married Vulf Pleple, and they had a daughter, Mirella (born 1930). In 1941 she was deported to the Daugavpils Ghetto, where she was murdered.
