Pinkhusovich (Pinchusowitsch) Yakov (Jakov) Abramovich (born 1921, Dvinsk—today Daugavpils) - carpenter.

Yakov Pinkhusovich was born into the family of Abram Samuilovich Pinkhusovich (1879, Vitebsk, Belarus – 1938, Dvinsk) and Sora-Mina Mozusovna Pinkhusovich (1892, Poland – 1941, Dvinsk). He completed six grades of primary school and studied at a Jewish vocational school (1934–1937, Dvinsk). He worked as a carpenter at Butin’s furniture factory (1937–1941, Dvinsk).

He was evacuated to Stalinabad in the Tajik SSR, where he worked as a carpenter at the Takobrudstroy mine (1941–1942). In 1942 he fought at the front during the Second World War and was awarded the medals “For Combat Merit” and “For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945”, as well as jubilee medals. He later worked as a dispatcher at a film studio (1942–1943, Alma-Ata, Kazakh SSR) and as a supply officer at Gorkultgalssoyuz (1943–1945, Novosibirsk).

After returning to Riga, he worked as a carpenter at Soyuzlestorg (1946–1949), in the “Spars” artel (1949–1953), at the Department of Track Services of the Latvian Railway (1953–1956), at the “Fantaziya” hat factory (1956–1959), at the “Latvia” sewing factory (1959–1962), at the Somdaris Combine (1963–1966), and at the Furniture Manufacturing and Repair Combine (1966–1969).

In his marriage to Ester Aronovna Pinkhusovich (née Krechmer) (born 1920, Biržai, Lithuania), two children were born: Arkady Yakovlevich Pinkhusovich (born 1948, Riga) and Elina Yakovlevna Pinkhusovich (born 1956, Riga).

In 1969 Yakov Pinkhusovich received permission to emigrate to Israel, where his cousin Irakhmiel Pinkhusovich Pinkhusovich (born 1914, Dvinsk) was living.
