Nagli Ruben Yevseyevich (18 November 1935, Riga) — pharmacist.

Ruben Nagli was born into the family of a worker, Yevsey Afroyimovich Nagli (1905, Dagda, Latvia – killed in action in 1942 during the Second World War) and Frida Naumovna Nagli (1907, Rēzekne).

In 1941, he was evacuated to the village of Varnavino in Gorky Oblast, where he began school in 1944. After returning to Riga, he graduated from Secondary School No. 27 in 1953 and from the Riga Medical Institute (1953–1959). He worked as an inspector at the pharmaceutical warehouse of the Daugavpils branch of the Main Pharmaceutical Administration (1959–1960). After moving to Riga, he was employed as a chemical analyst at Pharmacy No. 42 (1960–1961) and subsequently as a junior research fellow at the Riga Medical Institute (1961–1968).

In 1968, he was convicted under Article 164, Part 2, of the Criminal Code of the Latvian SSR and sentenced to three years’ imprisonment, which he served in Daugavpils (1968–1971). After his release, he worked at the “Biķernieki” state farm (1971–1973) and later as a chemical analyst at Riga Pharmacy No. 7 (1973–1976).

From his first marriage to Raisa-Irma Mikhailovna Machulskaya, a daughter, Sterna Rubenovna Nagli, was born in 1961; the marriage was dissolved in 1967. From his second marriage to Ludmila Yakovlevna Nagli (née Cheremushkina) (1945, Stupino, Moscow Oblast), a son, Grigory Rubenovich Nagli, was born in 1972 in Riga.

In 1976, Ruben Nagli received permission to emigrate to Israel, where since 1971 his paternal aunt, Minda Afroyimovna Shenkman (née Nagli) (1912, Riga), had been living.
