Markushevich (Markuschewitsch) Simon Sholemovich (22 February 1909, Jelgava, Latvia) — tinsmith.

Simon Markushevich was born into a working-class family, the son of Sholom Semenovich Markushevich (1862–1909, Jelgava) and Brayna Israelevna Markushevich (née Zamelskaya) (born 1870; murdered by the Nazis in 1941 in Jelgava). In 1919 he completed two years of schooling in Jelgava. From 1919 to 1940 he worked as a tinsmith for a private employer; in 1940–41 he was employed as a tinsmith at the local prison.

In 1941 he was evacuated to Molotovsk, Kirov Region (now Nolinsk), where he worked as a tinsmith in the Stakhanovets artel. In 1941–42 he served in the Soviet Army, in the 92nd Rifle Regiment of the Latvian Division. From 1942 to 1945 he worked as a tinsmith at Factory No. 92 in Sormovo, Gorky Region (now Nizhny Novgorod). After returning to Latvia, he worked in Riga as a tinsmith at various enterprises. From 1978 he was retired.

He was married to Lubov Semenovna Markushevich (née Rabinovich) (born 1916, Jelgava). Their sons were Sholom Simonovich Markushevich (born 1946, Riga) and Ber Simonovich Markushevich (born 1947, Riga).

In 1979 Simon Markushevich received permission to emigrate to Israel, where since 1970 his wife’s nephew (the son of her brother), Ruven Eliazarovich Rabinovich (born 1929, Jelgava), had been living.
