Lipshits (Lipschitz) Arkady Aronovich (also known as Aron Lipshits) (17 October 1883, Liepāja – 1941)

Arkady Lipshits was born on 17 October 1883 in Liepāja. He graduated from the Nikolayev Gymnasium. From 1904 he studied medicine at the University of Tartu and, in 1905–1906, law. On 5 March 1915 he became a sworn advocate in Liepāja.

From 22 December 1920 he continued to practise as a sworn advocate in Liepāja.

In 1941, after the entry of German troops into Latvia, he was arrested. In September 1941 he was imprisoned in the Liepāja jail and was killed shortly thereafter.

He was married; his wife was Rosa (born 27 April 1884 – 1941), and their daughter Elizabete (born 23 July 1910 – 1941).

He was a philister of the Jewish student corporation Limuvia.
