Licht (Likht) Solomon Wulfovich (23 July 1906, Rēzekne) — hairdresser.

He was the son of the tailor Wulf Licht (1865, Rēzekne – 1940, Rēzekne) and Khanna Licht (1868, Rēzekne – 1940, Rēzekne). In 1921, he graduated from the Rēzekne Jewish Primary School. From 1922 to 1927, he worked as an apprentice and then as a master hairdresser at the Nachmanovich salon in Rēzekne. From 1927 to 1929, he served in the Latvian Army. In 1929, Licht moved to Riga. During 1929–40, he worked as a master hairdresser in Khait’s salon. In 1940–41, he worked as a master hairdresser for the Riga Municipal Utilities Trust. In 1941, he was evacuated to Fergana Region, Uzbek SSR. In 1941–42, he worked as a master hairdresser in the town of Alta-Ryk. From 1942 to 1943, he served in the Soviet Army in units stationed in Kirov. In 1943–46, he worked as a hairdresser at Military Factory No. 324 in Kirov. In 1946, Solomon Licht returned to Riga. From 1946 to 1967, he worked as a master hairdresser in the Riga Municipal Hairdressing Service Office. He was awarded the medal For Valiant Labour in the Great Patriotic War 1941–45.

In his marriage to Etta Licht (née Khozias) (1910, Jelgava), two children were born: Libe Licht (1938, Riga) and Wulf Licht (1947, Riga).

During the Holocaust, Licht’s sister Libe Shapiro (née Licht) (1896, Rēzekne – 1941, Rēzekne) was killed. Licht’s brother Boris Licht (1901, Rēzekne – 1920, Rēzekne) is buried in Latvia. Another brother, Gershen Licht (1904, Rēzekne), left Latvia in the 1930s in search of work and, by the 1960s, was working as a hairdresser in New York. Licht’s sister Shifra Furman (née Licht) (1902, Rēzekne) had lived and worked in Israel since 1958. In 1963, Solomon Licht submitted his first application to emigrate to Israel; it was granted only in 1969.
