Licht (Likht) (née Khozias) Etta Libmanovna (1 January 1910, Jelgava) — seamstress.

Etta Licht was the daughter of Libman Khozias (1869, Jelgava – 1934, Jelgava) and Bunya Khozias (1873, Jelgava – 1941, Malta). In 1927, she completed four classes at the Jelgava Jewish Primary School. From 1928 to 1934, she worked as a seamstress in the Markuson workshop in Jelgava. In 1934, she moved to Riga and until 1940 worked as a seamstress in Mostov’s workshop. In 1941, she was evacuated to Fergana Region, Uzbek SSR. In 1941–43, she worked as a cashier in the Municipal Utilities Trust in the town of Alta-Ryk. In 1944–46, she worked as a hairdresser at Military Factory No. 324 in Kirov. In 1946, Etta Licht returned to Riga after re-evacuation. From 1946 onwards, she was a homemaker.

In her marriage to Solomon Licht (1906, Rēzekne), two children were born: Libe Licht (1938, Riga) and Wulf Licht (1947, Riga). During the Holocaust, Licht’s mother and her sisters — Zina Heideman (née Khozias) (1913, Jelgava – 1941, Jelgava) and Lea Karanovich (née Khozias) (…, Jelgava – 1941, Malta) — were killed. Her brothers, Israel Khozias (1898, Jelgava – 1943) and Ruvin Khozias (1904, Jelgava – 1942), fell in battle during the Great Patriotic War. Licht’s sister Riva Licht (née Khozias) (1906, Jelgava) left Latvia in the 1930s in search of work and lived and worked in New York in the 1960s.

In 1963, Etta Licht submitted her first application to emigrate to Israel at the invitation of her husband’s sister, Shifra Furman (née Licht) (1902, Rēzekne). Her request was approved only in 1969.
