Levin (Lewin) Alexander Viktorovich (Burstyn, Alexander Gershevich) (29 September 1935, Jelgava) — chemist.

In 1957 Alexander Levin graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry of Saratov University. He worked as a shop foreman at the Meteor plant in 1957–1960, and from 1961 was employed as a chemist at the Riga Chemical Combine.

Aleksandr was the son of Ida Burstyn (née Bulavko, 1919). He was adopted by his mother’s second husband, Viktor Levin (1902). His biological father, Gersh Burstyn (1903), a resident of Vienna, was believed to have perished in the Dachau concentration camp; the family learned details of his fate only in the 1950s.
