Levenson (née Slovina) Roza (Rakhil) (04.11.1911, Riga ― 1941, Riga) ― pianist, teacher. In 1933 she completed the Latvian Conservatory with honors (class of Prof. P. Schubert). She continued her training under A. Borovsky. In 1937 she took part in the F. Chopin International Competition in Warsaw. She performed in Riga with solo concerts, and took part in symphonic concerts as a soloist (in particular, on 12 July 1939 she performed Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto with the Riga Symphony Orchestra under V. Berdyaev). She frequently performed on Riga Radio (including, in 1940, performing a Chopin concerto under J. Mediņš). She toured Latvia (including Liepāja) and Estonia (Tallinn, Pärnu). She had a broad repertoire, performing works of foreign and Russian classical music as well as Latvian composers (A. Kalniņš, J. Mediņš). She also performed as an accompanist for singers, instrumentalists, and dancers (in 1933 she accompanied S. Shapiro at his dance evenings in Riga and Daugavpils). From April 1941 she taught at the Latvian Conservatory.
