Leitman (Leitmann) Aron Veniaminovich (1902, Riga ) ― participant in the revolutionary movement, political prisoner.
At the age of 16, during the German occupation of Latvia, Aron Leitman participated in the underground revolutionary movement, organising strikes, demonstrations, distributing illegal literature, etc. He was arrested many times for his revolutionary activities. In 1930, with the permission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Latvia, he arrived in the USSR illegally. In 1938, he was arrested and sentenced to 15 years in prison. After serving his sentence, he was exiled to Norilsk. He returned from exile after his rehabilitation in 1956.
