Khoff Yakov (30.10.1891, Viljandi — ?) — civic figure. From a well-known family of merchants. From a young age engaged in trade and then philanthropy. Chairman of the board of the trade and industrial association “Verband.” Member of the boards of the “Cheap Kitchen” and “Gmilat Khesed” societies; was a member of the board of the “International Bank” and the “Ivrit” gymnasium. Also known as a patron of the press, participated in supporting the Jewish press in Latvia and for a long time supplied paper free of charge to the newspaper “Dos folk.”
