Kheifets Grimmril (Grigory) Markovich (agent alias Kharon) (1899, Riga — 1958, Moscow) — intelligence officer. From 1922, in the VChK–GPU organs. In 1926–28, on undercover work in Turkey and Italy; from 1929 — in France; from 1932 — in the USA; from 1936 — again in Italy. In 1937–41, worked at the central intelligence service apparatus in Moscow. In 1941–45 — Soviet intelligence resident in San Francisco. In 1951, arrested on charges of violating socialist legality norms and sentenced to 25 years' imprisonment. Released in 1953.
