Katz Leizer (Leiser)
(b. 5 December 1913, Pashvinitis, Kovno Governorate – ?) — Rabbi.
In 1929, Leizer Katz graduated from the Torah ve-Derekh Eretz Gymnasium (“Torah and the Way to the Homeland”); in 1933, he completed pedagogical courses in Riga; in 1935, he graduated from a yeshiva. He also graduated from the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the University of Latvia and attended various courses. From February 1934, he taught Religious Law at the Riga City Jewish School, the 1st and 2nd Riga Gymnasia, and worked as secretary of the yeshiva. He was ordained by Chief Rabbi of Riga M. Zak and Rabbi of Liepāja H. Wulfhart.
