Kadysh (Kadisch) (née Miller, formerly Kabiller) Debora Davidovna (21 September 1916, Daugavpils) — housewife.
Debora Kadysh was the daughter of David Miller (1854?, Riga – 1950, Riga) and Mera Miller (1890, Riga – 1929, Riga). In 1919 she moved with her parents to Riga. In 1936 she completed secondary school “Ezra”. Until 1941 she was a homemaker, living in Sabile.
In 1941 she was evacuated to Saratov Oblast, where until 1944 she worked on a collective farm. From 1944 to 1945 she was an inspector at the Kuybyshev Ball-Bearing Plant. In 1946 she returned to Riga. Until 1947 she worked as a shop assistant in a railway store. From 1947 to 1961 she was a homemaker. Between 1961 and 1963 she worked as a nanny in Riga kindergartens, and in 1963 she was employed as a worker at the “Jugla” chemical factory and at the Riga Instrument-Making Plant.
Her first husband, Bend Kabiller (1911, Sabile – 1941), was killed in action during the Second World War. In her second marriage, with Boris Kadysh (1906, Nereta), their children were born: Judita Kadysh (b. 1948, Riga), Lina Kadysh (b. 1951, Riga), and David Kadysh (b. 1954, Riga).
Her brother, Ephraim Miller (b. 1911, Riga), lived in Leningrad after the war. Her brother, Itzhak Miller (b. 1910, Riga), left Latvia for Palestine in 1934.
In 1961 Debora Kadysh submitted her first request to emigrate to Israel. Permission for the Kadish family to leave was granted in 1967, but due to the military–political situation, their departure was postponed until 1968.
