Gusinsky Yesel (Iosel) Mordukhovich (25 October 1924, Zilupe) — economist.

Yesel Gusinsky was born in Zilupe to Mordukh Gusinsky (1879, Lithuania – 1942, Solikamsk) and Frida Gusinskaya (1893, Lithuania – 1957, Riga). In 1929, the family relocated to Riga. In 1941, his parents were administratively deported to the city of Kansks. From 1941 to 1942, Yesel worked as a grinder at a repair plant in Kansk, and from 1942 to 1945, he was an auto mechanic at the Igarka Timber Combine in Krasnoyarsk Krai. Between 1945 and 1946, he served as a bookkeeper at Incomplete Secondary School No. 1 in Igarka.

Returning to Riga, he worked as a bookkeeper in the canteen of the “REZ” factory (1946–48), a rate setter in the Darbs artel (1948–49), and as an economist at the “Globus” (1949–50) and “Rekord” (1950–53) factories. In 1957–58, he was a worker in the Promprodukt artel, followed by employment in the Brīvība disabled workers’ artel (1958–60). In 1960–61, he worked as a storekeeper for the LatSnabTorg administration. In 1961, Gusinsky was convicted under Article 88 of the Criminal Code of the Latvian SSR and sentenced to three years in prison; he was released early.

In 1963, he worked as a loader for the Riga branch of SoyuzReaktiv, and in 1963–64, as a mechanic for a transport company in Gagra, Georgian SSR. From 1965, he was a mobile shop seller for the Riga Inter-District Consumer Cooperative. He adopted his wife’s son from her previous marriage, Robert Gusinsky (b. 1965, Riga). In 1969, Yesel Gusinsky received permission to emigrate to Israel. By the mid-1970s, he was living in West Germany and working as a driver.
