Gurvits (Gurwitz) Herman (German) (b. 1919, Riga) — Prisoner of Zion.
From a young age until the Soviet occupation in 1939, Herman Gurvits was an active member of the Betar movement. He continued his Zionist activities under Soviet rule. In 1946, during an attempt to cross the border illegally, he was arrested and sentenced to seven years in a corrective labour camp. He was released in 1953. In 1972, he emigrated to Israel.
