Gumpler Khana -Leah (Hana-Lea) Ovseevna (b. 22 September 1904, Riga) — shop assistant.

Khana-Lea Gumpler was born into a working-class family. Her father, Ovsey Berman (1880–1932), was a labourer, and her mother, Masha Berman (1879–1942), was a day labourer. At the age of 16, she began working and was employed as a sales assistant at the Shlagman ready-to-wear clothing store in Riga from 1923 to 1940.

In 1931, she married Samuil Gumpler (1904–1951).

In 1941, she was evacuated along with her husband and children, Iona (b. 1939) and Gesha (b. 1933), first to Yaroslavl Oblast, and later to Bukhara. The family returned to Riga in 1946.

Her father died in Riga in 1932. Her mother moved to Johannesburg in 1938 to join her sons. Her sister, Etya Levin (b. 1903), emigrated to Palestine in 1923 and in the 1950s was prepared to receive Khana-Leah and her children for immigration. Her brothers emigrated to the Union of South Africa: Berl Berman (b. 1907) in 1925, Sholem Berman (b. 1914) in 1935, and Hatskel Berman (1912–1961) in 1929. Her brother Ruvin Berman (b. 1916), a Group II disabled veteran of the Second World War, lived in Riga during the 1950s.
