Gordon Osip Lvovich (1898, Riga – 1958, Moscow) — gastroenterologist.

After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine at the First Moscow State University (1922), Osip Gordon joined the clinic of hospital therapy at the Second Moscow State University as an external student. From 1923 to 1930, he worked as a resident physician at the Belarusian Railway Hospital and as a doctor at the Central Laboratory for Psychology and Labour Pathology in Transport.

Together with M.I. Pevzner, he helped organise research on therapeutic nutrition at the Institute of Nutrition, where from 1931 until his death he headed the Department of Gastrointestinal Diseases.

Gordon’s scholarly work addressed various aspects of gastroenterology. He made a significant contribution to the study of the pathogenesis and clinical presentation of gastritis, and investigated issues of functional compensation in digestive diseases, including post-surgical recovery.
