Gelfond (née Okh, formerly Zbinovich) Matlya Nutovna (15 December 1923, Polonne District, Khmelnytskyi Region) – physician.

Matlya Gelfond was the daughter of Nuta Okh (1885, Khmelnytskyi Region – 1973, Riga) and Khaya Okh (née Tsimrak) (1886, Khmelnytskyi Region – 1950, Riga).

In 1941, she was evacuated to the Uzbek SSR and worked on a collective farm in Parkent until 1943. That year, she enrolled in the Tashkent Medical Institute, graduating in 1948. She then moved to Riga.

From 1949 to 1950, Matlya Gelfond worked as a doctor at the “Artek” children's sanatorium in Vaivari, on the Riga seashore. In 1950, she served as department head at the Baldone resort. From 1950 to 1952, she was a district physician at the 17th Children’s Polyclinic in Gorky, and in 1952–53, a school doctor at Hospital No. 17 and Polyclinic No. 12 in the same city.

In 1953, she returned to Riga. In 1954, she worked as a physician at the Latvian Trade Unions' Pioneer Camp. From 1954 to 1960, she served at Riga’s 4th children’s home. Between 1960 and 1962, she was an epidemiologist at the sanitary-epidemiological station in Riga’s Lenin District. She then worked as a doctor in nursery No. 23 (1962–66) and later at the nursery of the Rīgas Tekstils company (1966–69). From 1969 onward, she was a physician at Riga’s 8th Children's Polyclinic.

Her first marriage was to Lev Zbinovich (b. 1922, Gorky), with whom she had a son, Yakov Zbinovich (b. 1951, Riga). After their divorce in 1957, she married Lev Gelfond (b. 1914, Vinnytsia Region).

Her son emigrated to Israel in 1973 and later moved to the United States. In 1976, Matlya Gelfond received permission to emigrate to Israel, invited by her second husband’s son from his first marriage, Arkady Gelfond (b. 1946, Brașov, Romania).
