Alexander Fridental was the son of Fridental Rakhil (1895, Bălți — 1952, Bălți) and Fridental Moishe (1898, Bălți — 1943, Kugalinsky district, Kazakh SSR). In 1940 he completed four classes of primary school.

In 1941 he was evacuated to the Kugalinsky district of the Kazakh SSR, where until 1945 he worked at the collective farm “Lugovaya.” In 1945 he returned to Bălți and until 1949 worked as a laborer at the Bălți municipal trade base. From 1949 to 1952 he served in the Soviet Army.

In 1953–1954 he worked as a fitter at the Bălți municipal industrial combine. In 1955 he moved to Riga. In 1955 he worked as a weaver in the “Daiļkrāsotājs” artel. From 1955 to 1957 he was a worker at the Riga multi-branch industrial combine. In 1957–1958 he worked as a hat-maker at the Riga garment factory. From 1958 to 1960 he worked as a shoe remover at the rubber products factory “Meteor.” From 1960 to 1972 he worked as an ironer at the “Latvija” garment factory.

He was married to Fridental (née Dolzhanskaya) Emel (born 1934, Saint Petersburg, then Leningrad), and their son was Roman Fridental (born1956, Riga).

In 1972 Alexander Fridental received permission to emigrate to Israel upon the invitation of his brother, Arye Fridental (born 1917, Bălți), who had left Romania for Palestine in the 1930s; contact between the brothers was restored only in the 1950s.
