Falkov Aryeh (Arjie) (1919, Rēzekne — ?)

From childhood, Aryeh Falkov was a member of the Betar movement. In 1941, he attempted to cross the border of the Soviet Union with Afghanistan in order to reach Palestine, but was arrested.

In 1942, he was sentenced by the Special Council to 10 years of imprisonment and 5 years of exile. He served his sentence in various лагеря, and his exile in the Krasnoyarsk region.

In 1956, he was released and continued underground Zionist activity in Riga. His repeated requests to the authorities for permission to emigrate to Israel were denied, despite appeals to many representatives of the international community.

In 1967, he finally received permission and emigrated to Israel.

He was a participant in the meeting that established the organization of Prisoners of Zion from the USSR.
