Dlin Mozus ( (17.08.1938, Riga) — tinsmith

Mozus Dlin was the son of Berka Dlin (1904, Vishki) and Liubov Dlin (nee Magarik) (… — 1941, Saratov). He was evacuated with his mother to Saratov during the Second World War. After his mother’s death in 1941, the child was taken in by a resident of Leningrad who had also been evacuated to Saratov. Following the lifting of the Siege of Leningrad, they relocated together to Leningrad. In 1945, the father returned for his son and the family was re-evacuated back to Riga.

Mozus completed Riga’s 5th Evening School in 1961. From 1956 to 1966 he worked as a tinsmith at the Riga Metalworking Combine and served in the Soviet Army from 1957 to 1960. In 1966–67 he was employed at the Riga Electrical Installation Products Factory. From 1966 to 1980 he worked variously as a tinsmith in the specialised Residential‑Utility Construction Office (RSU), in the RSU of the Riga City Construction Trust, in the Ministry of Local Industry of the Latvian SSR's specialised construction management unit (SMU), at the Lenin state farm in Salaspils, and at the Riga PMK (Construction and Installation Department) of the Latkoopstroymontazh trust. From 1980, he served as a ventilation fitter at the Catering Services Trust of Riga’s Proletarsky District.

He had two marriages:

First to Khene Dlin (née Magunskaya, b. 1939, Riga), with whom he fathered a daughter, Lyubov Khlyavina (née Dlin, b. 1962, Riga);

Second to Mery Dlin (née Leizer, b. 1938, Riga), with whom he had a daughter, Maria Nikiforova (née Dlin, b. 1967, Riga).

In 1989 Mozus Dlin emigrated to Israel with his family, following an invitation from his father, Bera Dlin (born 1904, Vīški). His mother, Liubov Dlin (née Magarik), died in Saratov in 1941. His stepmother was Tsile Dlin (née Podoksik / Padoksik, 1905–1985, Israel).
