Abram Bloshtein was born into the family of Izrail Abramovich Bloshtein(1891, Dvinsk – 1942, Kirov) and Eta Lvovna Bloshtein (1896, Panevezys, Lithuania – murdered by the Nazis in Dvinsk; no exact date in documents).

He completed 10 grades at the Dvinsk school (1932), worked various jobs (1932–1934), served in the Latvian army (1934–1935), and was an accountant at a leather warehouse (1935–1939). He then moved to Riga to prepare for university (1939–1940), worked as a construction laborer at the “Zasulauks Manufactory” (1940–1941), and when the war started, was evacuated to Cheboksary (Chuvash ASSR), where he worked in accounting at a research institute (1941).

After moving to the Uzbek SSR, he studied at the Kuybyshev Institute of National Economy (1941–1942), then worked as an inspector at Kyrgyztorg (1942, Osh, Kyrgyz SSR). Later, he moved to Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg), where he worked as a bookkeeper at the ORS of Uraltekhstroy (1942–1945). Returning to Latvia, Abram Bloshtein held multiple positions in Riga: director of army canteens (1945), commercial director at Osobtorg (1945–1949), head of external advertising at Soyuztorgreklama (1949–1952), manager of the “Lyra” café (1952–1954), store merchandiser and then director of store No. 9 at Respublika Gastronom office (1954–1959), director of store No. 39 of Riga Food Trade No. 2 (1959–1960), and director of store No. 1 of the Moskovsky District Food Trade in Riga (1960–1971).

Abram Bloshtein was married to Antonina Ivanovna Bloshtein (née Yavnushina) (born 1923, Rzhev, Kalinin Region). Their son, Bloshtein Izrail Abramovich, was born in 1948 in Riga.

In 1971, Abram Bloshtein received permission to emigrate to Israel, where his brother Azriel Izrailovich Bloshtein (born 1911, Dvinsk) had lived since 1939.
