Ber (née Fainveits) Pesiya Borisovna (7.07.1913, Daugavpils - ?) – seamstress.

Pesiya Ber was born into the family of Boris Issakovich Fainveits (1888–1952, Ludza), a labourer, and Khana Peysakhovna Fainveits (1896, Daugavpils – 1942, Dzhambul, Kazakh SSR), a housewife.

She completed seven years of education at a Russian gymnasium (1927, Daugavpils) and worked as an apprentice and later as a seamstress in Berger’s private workshop (1930–1941).

During the Second World War she was evacuated first to Nikitino village, Yaroslavl region, where she worked as a labourer on a collective farm (until October 1941), and then to Dzhambul, Kazakh SSR, where she worked as a seamstress at a municipal industrial plant (1941–1945).

Upon returning to Riga, Pesiya Ber was a homekeeper (1945–1962) and later worked as a forewoman at the Riga House of Fashion (1962–1970).

Pesiya was married to Leiba Abramovich Ber (born 1909, Smolensk), with whom she had a daughter Khana Leibovna Gasulis (née Ber) (born 1946, Riga).

In 1972, Pesiya Ber was granted permission to emigrate to Israel, where her sister Yeita Borisovna Gimelfarb (née Fainveits) (1923, Daugavpils – 1972, Tel Aviv) had been living with her husband Getzl Abramovich Gimelfarb (having moved from Poland to then-Palestine in 1946). Her brother Grigory Borisovich Fainveits (born 1931, Daugavpils) had also been residing in Israel since 1969.
