Baum Herman Leib (1925, Riga – 1992, Israel) – Prisoner of Zion.

Born into a Zionist family, Leib Baum was deported to Siberia in 1941 along with his entire family. He and his father were imprisoned in a camp near Solikamsk, in the Urals, where his father passed away.

In 1942, he was transferred from the camp to a settlement in Tomsk, where he organized Zionist activities.

In 1946, he was arrested again and sentenced to seven years in a labour camp.

After serving his sentence, Leib Baum was exiled to Siberia.

He was finally released in 1959, after spending 10 years in prison camps and 10 years in exile.

In 1972, Leib Baum moved to Israel, where he lived until his passing in 1992.
